Diploma In Legal Practice (Law Development Centre, Kampala)
Masters in International Law [M.I.L.], University of

Tasks in the Current Position:


Responsible for supervision of registration of; companies, business names, documents, trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright administration, Official Receiver/Liquidator, registration of births and deaths, marriages, Adoptions and Political Parties and Organisations.

Any other duties assigned by the Solicitor General.

Profile/Career Achievements

1986 Joined the Ministry of Justice, Registrar General’s Department as a Pupil State Attorney. Duties handled included; registration of companies, business names, documents, births and deaths and compliance measures under the Companies Act.

1989 Confirmed as State Attorney

1992 Admitted to the University of Lund Faculty of Law in conjunction with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law for a Masters Degree Course in International Law.

1993 - Graduated with the Masters Degree in International Law [M.I.L.] of the University of Lund, Sweden.

1995 - Promoted to Senior State Attorney.
New duties handled included: registration of Trademarks, Patents, Copyright administration and registration of marriages.

Projects worked on include:

Reform of Commercial Laws , Guest Lecturer on Company law at the Law Development Centre, Background research on the restructuring of the Registrar General’s Department, development of the Plant Variety Protection Legislation and Biodiversity issues. 1999 - Promoted to Principal State Attorney, and transferred to

2000 the Directorate of Legal Advisory Services, Duties handled; provision of Legal Advice to government line Ministries and Local Governments, Drafting and Negotiation of Contracts, Human Rights desk issues, commercial crime and appointed a member
of the Anti Money Laundering Committee.

2001 - Transferred to Department of Litigation and appointed as Secretary to the Commission of Inquiry on the Illegal Exploitation of Natural Resources and other Forms of Wealth in the Democratic Republic of Congo, 2001.

2002 - Appointed Ag. Registrar General responsible for supervision of registration of; companies, business names, documents, trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright administration, Official Receiver/Liquidator, registration of births and deaths, marriages, Adoptions and Political Parties and Organisations.
