in the current position:
•Receiving and handling statutory notices
of intentions to sue Public agencies and Institutions
•Accepting
service pleadings and preparing statements of defence
in respect of public agencies and institutions.
•Handling other applications in courts of Law
•Defending Public agencies and Institutions
in Courts of Law
•Negotiating terms of settlement outside court
where applicable where Public and Institutions are
involved
•Providing legal opinion to public agencies
and institutions, to the Attorney General and Solicitor
General.
Profile/Career
Achievements
Cheborion,
40, studied in rural schools in Kapchorwa District
and later Mbale Secondary School and Nyakasura School.
He read Law at Makerere University and several post
graduate courses at the International Law Institute,
Washington DC.
At Makerere University he lived in Mitchell Hall where
he later became Hall Chairman.
While still at employed in the Attorney General’s
Chambers, he was seconded to work with the Uganda
Human Rights Commission as assistant legal Counsel,
he was later instrumental in the formation of UHEDOC-
a Human Rights NGO; he is a Chancellor for the recently
formed Sebei Diocese.
At the Attorney General’s Chambers he now majors
in handling Constitutional, Human Rights, Tort and
Commercial cases.
