LL. B (Makerere University, Kampala)

Diploma In Legal Practice (Law Development Centre, Kampala)
Master of Laws Degree in Maritime and Environmental Law of the International Maritime Law Institute, Malta

Tasks in your current position:

Providing Legal support, Advisory and consultative services to local Government

Handling legal assignments for the Attorney General and Solicitor General regarding Local Government and related bodies

Researching into legal issues for the purposes of enabling the development of guidelines for policy, regarding Local Governments

Interpreting Government policies to and by the various Local Government and related agencies

Preparing cabinet memoranda of legal nature, legal briefs and opinions for Attorney General and Solicitor General.

Profile/Career Achievements

He worked as a State Attorney since March 1984 on temporary terms but later appointed a State Attorney in 1987 by the Public Service.

Mr. Ejoku Opolot was promoted to Senior State Attorney in 1991. He was then elevated to Principal State Attorney in 1995 and successfully appointed by His Excellency the President as Commissioner for Legal Advisory Services in 1999 to date.

He heads the Department in the Directorate of Legal Advisory Services in charge of Advising Local Governments on legal matters concerning the said Government among other things

Mr. Ejoku was in Hilders Primary School (1966-1972) where he obtained a Primary leaving Certificate; he joined Soroti Secondary (1973-1976) where he acquired Ordinary Certificate. He went to Nyakasura School (1979-1982) before joining Makerere University Kampala (1982-1983) where he studied Law.

He enrolled with a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice as an Advocate from the Law Development Centre (1982-1983)

Mr. Ejoku Opolot also graduated with Masters of Laws from the International Maritime Law Institute Malta (1991-1992)
